Geeks Mobile Review: Stay Far Away From These People

On 2/9/2011 I called Geeks Mobile to send out a technician to take a look at my Dell desktop.

It had mysteriously powered itself off a day earlier, and when I went to power it on, it did this crazy thing (it hadn't ever done before), where it started to power-up, stopped, and then continued like it was going to boot up, but never did.

I described the problem to them and they said they'd send out a "technician" the next day. Sounded good to me, so I agreed to it.

The next day the technician showed up, tried a few things for a total of ten minutes, and then suggested I buy another computer because, as he said, "You could probably get one for 200 bucks somewhere."

He then told me I owed Geeks Mobile $119.95.

Infuriated, I told him it was outrageous considering I wasn't any further along than before he showed up.

After speaking with his "manager", I was told that I could get someone else to come out (which considering the quality of who they first sent out, I was not interested in doing), or I could get a 20% "discount" to end the matter right away.

Needless to say, I wrote out a check for $96 dollars just to get these people out of my life forever.

The lesson from all this... NEVER CALL GEEKS MOBILE FOR ANY KIND OF SERVICE! EVER!
